Who is The banks account?

Emily Banks, founder of The Banks Account, a public relations and social media consulting practice, has more than ten years of experience in the consumer and lifestyle space, where she creates and executes integrated marketing efforts for her clients. With an emphasis on results-driven programs that bring greater awareness to brands large and small, Emily’s style highlights strategic storytelling, meaningful relationships with media, influencers and tastemakers, and a deep understanding and love of the lifestyle, design and digital categories.


In her former role at Magrino PR, a lifestyle agency in New York City, Emily was Vice President, Digital where she led a nine-person team, oversaw new business acquisition for the department, client social media & influencer strategy, and team development. In 2019, the agency’s digital business grew more than 51% under her leadership.


Prior to her VP role, Emily worked at Magrino as a Senior Director, Consumer PR on clients that included Hunter Douglas and Hästens, as well as the William Grant & Son’s corporate portfolio including Hendrick’s Gin and Milagro Tequila.


Over the course of her career, Emily has worked with Cuisinart, Martha Stewart for Macy’s, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Commando, Apartment Therapy, Food Network/Cooking Channel’s Kelsey Nixon, and YouTube sensation Michelle Phan, among many others in the beauty, design and hospitality industries.


Emily holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University and currently lives on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
